The Central Section

MTO has retained WSP Canada Inc. (WSP) to carry out an Environmental and Detail Design Study for the Central Section of the Bradford Bypass.

Overview

The Bradford Bypass Central Project includes the central portion of the new Bradford Bypass corridor from west of Artesian Industrial Parkway to east of Yonge Street. The central section of the Bradford Bypass will include a four-lane mainline freeway (three general purpose lanes and one high occupancy vehicle lane in each direction), an interchange at Bathurst Street, Hochreiter Access relocation, and structures at Artesian Industrial Parkway, the Metrolinx rail corridor, the Holland River, and the East Holland River.

Environmental field studies are currently underway for the Bradford Bypass Central project.

Winter 2026 Update

The contract for Detail Design of the Central Section was awarded to WSP in Fall 2025 and environmental field studies are currently underway. Further updates will be posted as they become available.
